Pain Relief Case Study: The Lotus Blooms Again

Written by: Nick Ortner

What if you were told that you could NEVER again do the things you loved because of a physical injury?

Here’s another example of the results that are possible with Tapping. Make sure to share this info with anyone you know that is in pain!

As soon as I asked her to get into her favorite yoga pose, Tara went quiet.

After several seconds of silence, she took a deep breath. Sure she would regret it, she attempted the pose anyway.

I was fairly certain the tapping we’d done had cleared the way for pain relief, but the only way to know for sure was to test the process. That meant doing the movements that caused her pain before tapping.

Right away, Tara felt shocked that she could even do the pose. Since having major neck surgery (multiple vertebrae in her neck had been fused together), she didn’t think yoga was an option for her.

Years before, Tara’s neck had been injured in several car accidents, and then again when she was assaulted. She’d been diagnosed with cervical stenosis and told by doctors that she had the neck of an 89-year-old in her early thirties. Major surgery was her only option.

In the years since the surgery, Tara had done extensive physical therapy and regained movement, but whenever she tried to use her neck muscles, including rolling her neck from side to side, her chronic migraines would return with a vengeance.

Doctors told her repeatedly that chronic pain and limited mobility would stay with her, that there was nothing more they could do.

To avoid more pain, Tara spent years trying to move as little as possible. This was the first time Tara attempted a yoga pose in a very long time.

By the time our session ended, Tara completed that same yoga pose a few more times, each time amazed her body was capable of doing it.

Thrilled as she was, Tara still went to bed that night expecting to wake up with a migraine.

When morning came, she had no migraine and no pain.

During our tapping the day before, Tara had connected with what she called the “tears in her neck.” Once we had tapped through that deep sadness, and other emotions that had gotten stuck in her neck, her chronic migraines stopped.

How is that even possible? How can a woman who’s had multiple vertebrae surgically fused together suddenly stop having chronic pain? Given what most learn about how the body works, it may sound a little crazy at first.

Understanding Chronic Pain

Research studies at Stanford University, UC Davis, and other medical research institutions around the world are confirming what I’ve seen in clients for years – that emotions play an important role in chronic pain.

In one study 121 women, 62 with fibromyalgia, received an electric shock and then asked to recall one memory with a neutral emotional charge, and then a different memory that made them feel either angry or sad. Each time they recalled one of these memories, the machine delivered the same pain-inducing electric shock.

All of the study participants, whether or not they had fibromyalgia, experienced higher levels of pain when they thought of the event that made them feel angry or sad.

Just by changing their emotional state, they became either more or less likely to experience physical pain.

Something I see over and over in clients with chronic pain, is the underlying stress and emotions release, the pain goes away, and long-lasting pain relief happens.

Tara is just one of the many people that know what it’s like to be pain-free again.

After tapping through the stress and emotions behind their chronic pain, all of them are living pain-free, active lives.

“What do you say when your life was broken, and your life isn’t broken anymore? It’s beyond words.”

These days, she’s so busy living an active life, she often forgets about her neck altogether!

When I spoke with Tara several months after our session, I asked her what she’d say to people who, like her, were initially skeptical that Tapping would work for their chronic pain. She laughed, and we reminisced briefly about how sure she’d been that Tapping couldn’t work for her.

Then she said something pretty incredible…

She said, “Trust the process more than you trust the fear.”

That really says it all. 🙂

Thank you for sharing your story with us, Tara.

We want everyone to have that same opportunity to experience lasting pain relief, so we’ve created a new pain relief home study course for you called The Tapping Solution for Pain Relief.

In The Tapping Solution for Pain Relief Program, I lead you through that same pain relief process that allowed Tara, and so many others, to feel what it’s like to be pain-free again.

This is such a powerful process, and the results we’ve seen continue to amaze me. I still get so excited seeing people come out of it pain-free! 🙂

If you or someone you know is struggling with chronic pain, I hope you’ll join us (or forward this blog post) for this opportunity to experience lasting pain relief.

Until next time…

Keep Tapping!

Nick Ortner
