Releasing Coronavirus Anxiety

As the Coronavirus spreads, so does uncertainty and anxiety. It’s important to stay informed as to all the ways we can take preventative measures. The challenge is that we can become so stressed as we read the news, and studies have shown that increased anxiety can weaken the immune system.

The intention of this tapping meditation is to help you release that anxiety so that you can support your immune system, feel more at peace, and feel empowered to take any steps necessary to protect yourself.

    The worst thing for me about this pandemic is that it triggered an emotional state of numbness, an apathy about why we exist, a guilt of ingratitude and a fear that I will be institutionalized. My mind started playing games and the question of why was been answered by thousands of responses in my head that made me so anxious. So many suppressed feelings over the years started re-emerging. Suicidal thoughts , then more anxiety about selfishness and abandoning my family, if I did something so extreme, not to mention the blasphemy of taking ones life. Prayer has become a central focus as well. Underlying all this is the fear that my business may not survive and financial issues create more anxiety. Normally when faced with a financial challenge I would spring into action,and look for alternatives, however the feeling of apathy and fear and that I don’t see what life and existence is all about results in a paralysis of not doing anything.
    I am hoping that with tapping being one of the angles of approaching this crisis, prayer , and the step to seek a counselor will result in me overcoming this rut. To be inspired, grateful for life, meaning in our existence, and most of all to add value to peoples lives and be the pillar of my awesome family whom I feel I have abandoned in the prison of my mind.

    I went to ER 3 times struggling to breath. I was given nebulisation, and because I could have been exposed, due to my job, in hospitality, I was tested for the Corona Virus and in Isolation for 30 hrs as they waited for the results. Except for the breathing difficulties, and headaches I had no other symptoms. In the 30 hrs, had 8 nebulisations to help me breathe. Thank God the test was negative, and other medical tests done showed that my lungs were optimal and heart was fine… so the diagnosis was stress and anxiety, which I am sharing as it was very debilitating
    since breathing should come naturally. I have been home for 2 weeks as is most of the World, my breathing is better and I am trying to work on stress and anxiety.. I opted Not to take the 3 tablets of controlled medication given to me and trying to let of the anxiety thats got my nervous system all lit up.. We all having various fears and emotions, Please take care of your mental health, this situation is difficult but some things are not in our control. Thanks Nick and Jessica for helping us cope. I hope this story can help others

      Thank you for sharing, Shehnaaz. It sure is a difficult time for many, but Tapping is a wonderful tool for releasing anxiety, calming the heart rate, and opening up the lungs for deep breathing. 🙂

    This morning (4/2) I was filled with anxiety about all that I could not handle. I am 71 yrs old with a lung condition. I do not have anyone who is close to me except my son who calls once a week. I have been exhausted for ages and I believe, after doing the Exhaustion meditation with Nick that stress because of the strong medications I am on to kill bacteria in my lungs and the way I physically feel has raised my anxiety to the roof. That meditation helped me greatly this morning “come down” from a severe stress attack. It also, of course, has effected my digestive system and I feel sick a lot of the time. Right now, also after doing the corona virus tapping meditation, I want to thank you for your help!

    According to the WHO, the most common symptoms of Covid-19 are fever, tiredness and a dry cough. Some patients may also have a runny nose, sore throat, nasal congestion and aches and pains or diarrhoea. About 80% of people who get Covid-19 experience a mild case – about as serious as a regular cold – and recover without needing any special treatment.

    On an anxiety level of 6 at the start, I tapped through the ten minute program once only and my 6 went down to a 3.
    At this level it seemed like I had dreamed the anxiety and I felt so much better.
    Anything that boosts ones immunity has got to be a good thing especially at this time so Thank you.

    Thank you for this meditation. I feel much better. It’s also reassuring to know I’m not alone in my anxiety. I’m 85 years old (in good health) and I believe I have a good immune system, but still, all the news reports are suggesting I’m a high risk for life-threatening complications if I get the virus, so I’ve been isolating myself — not going anywhere! I’ll do this tapping again and thank you again!

    I founded and custom built a private pay long term care environment experience where I lived and worked in for a decade with over 40 mentally and physically disabled senior citizens with varying stages of Dementia, chronic non-curable illness, Legally Blind, Legally Deaf and End of Life Hospice patients.

    It was the hardest job I ever loved. Ongoing challenges, changes and never ending stress.

    I meditated, mindful breathing and stumbled upon The Tapping Method from Dr, Wayne Dyer!

    I had the blessing of attended the last Maui Writers Workshop and personally meeting him less than 90 days before he passed.

    I worked with my Dementia clients and did short stress relief tapping with them and it always made noticeable improvements in their stress, wellbeing and happiness!

    Stress is part of the human experience some days, and it is a killer of joy, love, mental and physical health and life.

    Kids must learn early in life techniques to cope during stress and I believe that in doing so, these lessons will improve their quality of life during crisis situations.
