How to Experience Radical Change – and LOVE IT!

Written by: Nick Ortner

I want to talk to you today about a decision that could change your life forever. It’s the idea that a small moment, a small decision, that doesn’t SEEM radical, can create radical change.

Whoa… You say, “Radical change?” Who wants “Radical change?” Frankly, I think most of us do.

No, not change as in upheaval, distress, movement, etc.

Change as in, “Everything is better, feels better, life is flowing, relationships are healing, money is coming in, joy has come back into the very core of my being…”

That, to me, is Radical Change.

Why do we need Radical Change?

When I look around, most people are simply NOT feeling this way on a daily basis, or with any consistency.

It seems like we, as a society, have lowered the bar in a significant way. It’s like an awful game of “Limbo”!

The issue is, there’s nobody out there in the mainstream media, in our communities, or in our families, looking at us and telling us, “You CAN feel good all the time!”

That message simply does not exist. Imagine that, it doesn’t EXIST!

Look at the messages we are receiving if we dare to turn on the television. They say, “Here is happiness, joy, and abundance… all you have to do is take this little pill (and please ignore the list of horrible side effects, just look at the pretty pictures).”

Or

“Here’s a great time with friends and family. Everyone looks great and healthy AND they’re drinking beer.”

Those are the “positive” messages.

If you actually watch the programming (and it is programming!) you are likely to see awful news on the “news”, or a game show where people are basically gambling to make any money, or a cop/detective show where someone is brutally killed in the first 5 minutes, and then we spend the next hour going after all the suspects and trying to uncover the mystery.

It’s almost laughable, if it were not so painful…

Now, you might say to me, “I don’t watch TV!” Well, that’s fantastic, a great start. So the questions then become, who are you interacting with? What are you talking about? What are you thinking about?

And if most of you take an honest look at that question, you’ll see it may not be as positive as we think.

So what do you do?

What do you do when everyone around you acts this way and it’s so much easier to “fit in” by just going along with it?

Easy to say, harder to do…

You make a CHOICE!

You make a CONSCIOUS CHOICE to no longer participate in energies that don’t support you and your well-being.

You pay attention, close attention, to how something makes you feel. And if it doesn’t make you feel good, you move away from it, stop speaking about it, or turn it around.

And you use TAPPING, every step of the way, to make the whole process MUCH easier.

You might be wondering, how exactly do I do that? Let me give you an example:

You just got home from work, later than you wanted to… again. You’re tired, stressed, just fed the kids and put them to bed, and you’re overwhelmed with all the stress and responsibility. Your habit and instinct are to put on the TV and watch CSI (a crime show).

You think, it’s a well put together show, and entertaining, and you get to zone out for an hour, but you never feel great afterward and you often have nightmares from the violence in the show.

It would seem obvious not to watch it, but you’re just compelled to do so, and you just need to zone out…

Instead, here’s what you can do:

In that moment of making the choice between turning on the TV or not, you pause, tap on the karate chop point, and say, “Even though I’m totally stressed out, the kids are driving me crazy, work stinks, and I just want to disappear for an hour into the drama of that TV show, I deeply and completely accept myself.”

You repeat it three times while tapping on the karate chop point and then tap through each of the other points, repeating, “This stress… tap, tap, tap… I just want to watch TV… tap, tap, tap… I don’t have the energy to do anything else… tap, tap, tap…” and so forth, through the points.

You finish one round and take a deep breath… Sigh…

All of a sudden, something has shifted.  Your body has relaxed in a big way. The stress has lifted just enough for you to say, “I feel ok, and I think I’m going to read my book…”

And that subtle but important choice is ALL the difference.

Because you just keep making that better choice, again and again. And you just keep using Tapping to balance your energy and come to that place of peace.

Again and Again.

Tap, Tap, Tap

Sigh… I can now make the better choice.

Again and Again.

And next thing you know… Radical Change!

You feel better, happier, and more fulfilled.

Sigh…

Tap, Tap, Tap…

Radical Change IS possible. Start now! What can you tap on to bring some relief into your life? What empowering CHOICE can you make?

NOW.

Until next time….

Keep Tapping!

Nick Ortner

This was really good. I used it on an issue draining my energy at the moment. Would love to see this as a tapping meditation. Thanks Nick. Wishing everyone a good week.

I was introduced to Tapping by a friend who practices MNRI (Muskatova) when I was going through a very difficult time. After a cascade of Stressors, I was at the point where I wasn’t certain I wanted to play this game of Life any longer and each day was a start to finish struggle. Breathing itself was a challenge and I felt unworthy of the very air going into my lungs. I share this because what she taught me – a Cha-cha Cha-cha-cha tapping pattern on points throughout the body – Quite literally saved my life. When I think back to it now I am amazed at how difficult it was for me to tap out a simple rhythm on a set of 5 points when I started. I just sobbed through it feeling inadequate and completely ridiculous. What comforted me and kept me tapping was knowing it had saved her son’s life and the results were miraculous for me as well. The wounds were deep, so I tapped a lot in those first days. I thought of it as changing the bandages of my wounded soul. Many of those around me just shook their heads – some shunning me for such strange behavior but It was totally worth it as I am living proof.
One thing that I find fascinating is that I was taught totally different tapping points than what you teach which means there are many access points to relief. I have since taken part in your Tapping Summit and followed your progress sharing tapping with the world. I have also been studying the wisdom in Donna Eden’s Energy discoveries and have combined the teachings utilizing tapping along energy lines throughout the body as well as using the breath itself as a kind of tapping.
I have also considered the roll of rhythm in tapping. The Cha-Cha that I was originally taught is much more effective for me than just a straight tap-tap-tap. I have further recognized that – for me -the 5 Beat- Cha-Cha, Cha-Cha-Cha rhythm is very releasing of negative energy while a 4 Beat- Tap, Tap-Tap-Tap with emphasis on the first beat is very energy building.
As the Volunteer Director of an animal welfare, I have many non-humans in my day to day life who experience many of the same stressors and so I have been utilizing what I’m learning on the horses, cats, dogs and birds with some modifications to suit the individuals. The results are impressive, and they will gather around me when I’m working on one – waiting their turn – its heartwarming.
Thank you for bringing the knowledge of this amazing tool to so many – Best Wishes – Keep on Tappin!

Nick, thank you for your passion anf courage to help people transform their lives. I speak of you and your sister to my clients like we are friends, I’m so passionate about you two.

It’s interesting, I noticed that every person who commented here is a female and yet the author of this is a solid powerful confident balanced man. Your message serves to speak to the feminine powerful side within every human being. Do you struggle at all with how to reach more men…how to reach their feminine side?

    • Nick Ortner says:

Hi Kim! Thanks for spreading the word about Tapping! I think in general, a majority of the population in the healing and energy fields are female, which isn’t a bad thing. I feel that more female energy is being called forth in order to balance the male-energy dominated structures that have been in place for quite a long time. I think it’s also cultural, where men just aren’t taught to connect with their emotions. But I don’t really concern myself with trying to reach any particular gender or demographic, my goal is to simply offer this healing technique to the world, and those that are called to find and use it, will. 🙂

    Hello Nick,
I just want to let you know that I have just stumbled on Tapping a few days ago. I am intrigued and fascinated! I am watching videos every night. I did my first tapping on a pain in my wrist. I worked very well. I have tried soooooo many things, and still don’t live the life I want. Completely. What I want to tell you is that you are amazing. You have an absolute gift. Your voice is calming gives hope and is easy to listen to. You also have a gift of listening to the things people are saying and tuning quickly into the underlying issue. Wonderful. You are truly one of the angels sent to help. Thank you for being here, and doing so much good!!
    Respectfully,
    Anne

I threw my T.V. away two years ago. I miss it once in a while because I think i should know more about what is going on in the world.
Tapping doesn’t work for me. It never has, although I keep on trying. I think I have too much trauma in my body.

  8. john says:

    what’s the “karate chop point”?

  9. Michael Braddock says:

    Thanks for the reminder

  10. Annette says:

Thanks for sharing this – all true change has to be “radical” (working at the root level), otherwise it’s just like trimming a tree which keeps growing back and therefore temporary at best. To be honest, my very favorite part of this blog is the inserted graphic: “Your life does not get better by chance…” – this in itself is a message worth spreading!

  11. Denise says:

Great. Thanks loads. Wow thank you it worked wonderfully.
