In Memory of Roger Callahan – Discoverer of the Tapping Process

I was saddened to learn last week that Roger Callahan, who discovered the tapping process and the breakthrough combination of physical tapping and modern psychology, passed away at the age of 88.

Roger, over thirty years ago, had the breakthrough session with his client Mary, who had a water phobia that cleared through tapping and he developed TFT (Thought Field Therapy).

You might remember the story in more detail from the first chapter of my book  (if you don’t have my book and want to read that story in more detail you can read the first two chapters for free here: www.thetappingsolution.com/free-ts-ebook-thankyou.php)

Gary Craig, one of Roger’s students, modified his process and developed EFT, which is the form of tapping I was introduced to over a decade ago.

While I never had the opportunity to meet Roger, I’ve always been grateful for his incredible discovery and what it has done to change my life, the lives of those I love, and the world at large.  I know that the amazing work I get to do today is due in large part to Roger’s brilliant work and insights and feel humbled to play my part in continuing this transformative work.

In honor of Roger and his legacy, my brother, sister, father and I (it’s a family business after all!) are making a $10,000 donation today to the TFT Foundation, which has similar aims to the Tapping Solution Foundation’s work, in spreading this powerful tool around the world.

Thank you Roger for your enormous contribution to my life and to the world.

P.S. – Here are two more pictures of Roger with his wife Joanne.  If you’d like to leave some words for Roger’s family, leave your comments below:

I love Tft.. in fact I’d love to be a therapist. I’m in Sydney. Any chance you could direct me to the right place?
    Many Thanks Tess ?

Hi Tess! That’s great! You can check out how to become a certified EFT practitioner here. There are also some great online EFT certification programs that you can search for as well. 🙂

I only knew Roger Callahan by reputation through his remarkable daughter, Patty, who was one of the most beautiful persons I have ever known. If a man can be judged by his children, then Roger Callahan was a gret man.

I would like to know if you know of a doctor/therapist in north Atlanta that uses Thought Field Therapy.

My condolences to Roger Callahan’s family and friends. I’m sorry that Roger has passed away. I’m so grateful that Roger left us all something invaluable in his brilliant transformational work which led him to found Thought Field Therapy (TFT) on which tapping is based.
