Pain Relief

Have You Ever Felt Like You Didn’t Fit In?

Written by: Nick Ortner

Have you ever felt like you didn’t fit in? Or that you weren’t enough?

Maybe you felt rejected by your mother, father, or other family member, by friends or even by complete strangers, and felt the hurt of that deep inside?

If so, (and if not, I may be writing this post to a being from another planet!) I want to share an extremely moving and powerful video with you that was filmed during one of our Tapping Experience live events. In this video, you’ll get to watch and tap along as I work with Joanne on stage.

Joanne, like all of the other participants, came to get relief from physical pain. But as you’ll see in the video, whenever we tap on any issue, whether it be physical pain, weight, finances, relationships, or anything else, the core of the issues tend to go much deeper than just one topic.

Before you watch the video, I have two warnings for you:

#1 – This video is very moving, so have a tissue box ready. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house at the event during this, especially with what happens at the end. I won’t spoil what happens – you’ll want to see this for yourself.

#2 – I know that some people are offended by strong language. There is one point in the clip where both Joanne and I swear, not just for the sake of it, but with a very specific purpose as you’ll see. I just thought I would warn you so that you are prepared and not offended (and in case kids are in the room!). 🙂

Click on the video below to watch now. And after you watch, please leave your comments of support for Joanne and what insights you gained from watching this. She was extremely courageous for getting up on stage and sharing her story. I hope that her courage inspires you as well.

If you’d like some relief from pain (both physical and emotional) then I highly recommend you check out our Tapping Solution App!

With over 150 meditations to choose from across 15 different categories (and counting!), there’s something in there for everyone. 🙂

Until next time…

Keep Tapping!

Wow, such a powerful video. Joanne you showed such courage, thank you so much for allowing us to see your struggles and yes Nick is amazing. I love to dance and I hope Joanne you decide to take it up again – remember being “in the moment”? Lovely touch at the end, absolutely brilliant.

  2. Asoki says:

Truly amazing Nick…. So grateful to witness this… Thank you for making this available to the world. Deep gratitude.

  4. Janet Patrick says:

I was so touched by watching Joanne’s transformation. I didn’t realize how much I had buried until I started tapping with Joanne. I knew I was angry and hurt and didn’t seem to be able to enjoy life; but I had totally blocked where it all started. You have helped not only me but so many other people with your courage in sharing. God Bless You!!

  5. carol grace says:

Joanne, you are indeed worthy–of caring, respect, and love. I’d enjoy having you as a friend. God bless and keep on dancing. Love, Carol Grace

  6. Inge says:

Thank you Joanne, and Nick. It was a joy to watch Joanne’s transformation, or better yet reaserrting herself. It brought up an issue I needed to tapp on.

Thank you, Joanne, Nick, and Alex, for your courage, kindness, and Love, XOX. I.

  7. Rebecca Treat says:

  8. Carolyn DePriest says:

The video was very insightful for me. I appreciated her story. It was similar to my life story. I will tap my way to success. Thanks so much for sharing.

  9. Carole says:

It was wonderful to see the transformation and success of the tapping. I wonder if right hip pain leading down to knee is specifically connected to the experience of not being allowed to sit on father’s lap (same area).

  10. Monica says:

Dear Joanne, you don´t have to care what people think of you! Love so much your self, and surrender all your fears to God, feel their presence, and forgive all, who have hurt you!….with the tapping feel better with your self! much love…Monica…..Good dancing!much take care of your self:)

  11. Katherine Beaumont says:

Great to see Joanne dance at long last! Well done for being so brave and may this be the first of many dances outside of your head. I know how it feels…age four not being chosen to join in a ballet class; week after week the other girl in kindergarten were picked, but never me. The beginning of many, many rejections, beginning with my father. Oi weh! Thank you so Nick, especially demonstrating how ‘easy’ tapping is: I’m a firm believer and use it whenever issues arise – to great results every time. Bless you for all the help you are giving people.

  12. Mary Ann says:

Joanne and Nick reading through the other comments I also want to thank you. When I was 13 I went to a dance and all I wanted to was dance and have fun so a girlfriend and I decided to dance together which back In those days I guess was not accepted but we did anyway. While we were dancing my brother grabbed my arm and called me a horrible name and it has stayed with me for years. When I saw this video I tapped along and I cried so hard but felt much better after tapping. Thank you for helping me release this emotion. I do want to say to you after you were done tapping I noticed that you stood straight and tall and looked 10 years younger see what dancing can do for you. You just keep on dancing and don’t let anyone tell you you can’t. Thank you

  13. Janet Townsley says:

    Awesome!

I am having issues with resistance so I delayed watching the video. I empathized with her so much because I also have issues with my parents. Joanne has tremendous courage and she is a beautiful person. She also gave me the push I needed to start working on the resistance issue. I am sure there are many people out there who can relate. The video can be used in so many ways. Thank you Joanne, Nick and Alex. I will be watching, tapping and sharing this video many times. Thank you so much

  14. Cheryl Mitchell says:

Joanne…I feel for you–and you ARE worth it. At the age of 61 I learned that my mother had borderline personality disorder and it explained some of the horrible, life-threatening things she had done to my sister, and that I accepted, and spent a lifetime trying to be the good child and be perfect. After two years of a major illness and double hip repalcement surgery–2 surgeries in 4 days–I am finally free. Tapping helped me get through. I can walk again now, I have loving friends, and I hope one day I will find a new partner and love as well. Remember, forgiveness is for you; it does not mean you condone or accept what was done.
Joanne, you are not alone, anyone with hert and grace is sending you love andsupport. ANd if you are a person of faith, know that your creator made you with love, and that is always there for you.

    Cheryl

  15. Sue Thomas says:

Inspirational.Thank you Nick for showing us a beautiful, strong but gentle and compassionate way of helping a lovely Soul to relaease all that pain and trauma. Thank you to Joanne to have the courage to allow herself to be there, and to let her true self shine for all of us to see . . and love. thank you to Alex for taking Joanne, and our hearts, on a dance of a lifetime. Great Stuff Sxx

  16. Patricia says:

A very brave lady Well done and it certainly served me too We must kssp tapping !!

  17. Lynette says:

That was brilliant, thank you Joanne for sharing your emotional and physical pain with us. May I be inspired to look more closely at my own vulnerabilities and have the courage to work through them. My mother was hard on me through childhood. I’d say this is where the self-doubt, sense of shame and guilt stems from. Then to be bullied throughout school life. So now in my early fifties, I still live alone. Despite a busy and demanding job as a health professional I still have periods of feeling ’empty’

  18. Stefanie says:

Joanne: How brave of you to do this for yourself and the world. And it was wonderful to watch your face and your body soften and become “present” with yourself. I know that you can do whatever you want to do! Keep Tapping, it obviously works!

Nick: What a role model you are and what a warm and wonderful human being you are. Thank you for sharing your gift with Joanne and the world!

Alex: A warm and caring change agent that can really do the Tango under pressure!

Thank you all for being who you are and sharing yourselves with all of us.

Namaste, with much love and respect.

  19. Ronja says:

Joanne, that was very courageous of you and I am proud of you for finding, or rather, reasserting your worth! Blessings!

  20. Anne Ruttan says:

This was, as you said Nick, a very emotional session undertaken by Joanne with whom I identify as I too have a disability with my hip and physical limitations that render me self-conscious. The moment of realization hit when Joanne got up to dance with Alex. It meant that we don’t have to hold ourselves back from pleasurable activities. We don’t have to think of ourselves “not up to par” – because of our disabilities – that we must throw ourselves into full enjoyment of living in this world from the perspective of who we really are and not what has happened to us physically and emotionally in the past. Joanne, you were brave and inspiring and I know you will get be on the journey everyday getting to where you want to be and enjoying every moment. It’s people like you that are strong and overcoming and you have been encouraging for me to appreciate myself more and to focus on my inner strengths. God Bless you and thank you Nick for sending me this video….Anne.

  21. Ella says:

Such a beautiful and moving session. You all are beautiful Joanne, Nick and Alex. Thank you, thank you, thank you…

  22. Nancy says:

I am so grateful to you Joanne for bringing up the trauma that happens for so many women on the dance floor. I felt so much shift within my self even though my experiences were very different because I too had given up my love of partnership dancing. A special thanks to Nick and Alex for the creative reframing of an old wound in a healing and inspiring way. Brilliant.

  23. Michelle Lacroix says:

Joanne you are beautiful, the way you danced and the woman that I saw emerge. Thank you for sharing your healing with us, your story with tapping healed me too. : )

  24. Michelle says:

I felt the same anxieties and pain in my hip to knee, and stomach. Thank you Joanne for helping me discover how tapping has almost completely removed my pain, so grateful to you for sharing this. X

  25. Janice says:

I never liked EFT before even though I’ve used it. I didn’t like all the hassle of finding ‘words’. I just visualized the issue when I did use it. This time I tapped along with you guys inputting my situation and using the words (except one) and it really does bring up emotion a lot more. How interesting. Thank you for your bravery and thank you Nick. And yes it helped a LOT!

  26. Betty says:

Nick you are amazing at what you do. My friends and family and I just started tapping three days ago. Some issues clear quickly others need more time. I have faith that it works. Keep up the great work.

  27. Denise Harriman says:

That was brilliant. I wasn’t even going to watch but had such a release of unexpected emotion that I’m so glad I did. Nick, it is always an inspiration to watch a master at work and you never disappoint. Joanne, I love you. Thank you so much for having the courage to do that. Something was triggered for me that was completely unconscious. I don’t think I have a clue what it means to feel worth it, but I plan to find out. I’m 60 by the way and have been doing emotional healing work in one form or another for the last 35 years. By the time I finally break through, I think I’ll be a testament to anyone who thinks it can never happen!

  28. Kaz Holder says:

Hi Go girl what an amazing dance and thank you for letting me tap on some of my own rejection issues and giving me something to work with to get the deep ones out xx

  29. Laura says:

Nick, you are a dreamweaver and Joanne is a masterfully courageous woman and a teacher to us all.

Remarkable to watch the energetic transformation from the trembling that surfaced to the releases. Such a reminder how we are able to hold things in our cellular memory.

The work of the Tapping Solution team is evolving so beautifully and powerfully.

    Blessings and gratitude

  33. Pam Cone says:

Joan, you are a very graceful dancer. I see your future getting brighter and brighter! Their is more happiness in store for you! Congratulations on making this big leap of faith! You are couragous, strong and beautiful!

  34. Laurene says:

Hi Joanne, you’ve showed a lot of courage doing this on stage. Wishing you all the best and a lot of fun with dancing. “A spin a day keeps the doctor away” 😉

  35. Kim says:

This was abolutely beautiful, thank you Nick, Joanne and Alex! You have all touched my heart.

  36. Bob ONeill says:

This was incredible! Everything my dad learned was from the Marines, it seemed I was his cadet. Several years ago, Mom suggested I tap to forgive him and say it out loud, I did, and it worked, I forgave him for the tough way I was treated. It’s good I did that before his untimely death.

Nick’s methods are far better than I have ever seen and I use it daily! Great job to Nick and Alex.

  37. Christiana says:

    Dear Joanne and Nick,
First of all I would like to thank you all for this wonderful video. Joanne you are such a courageous human being. It takes so much strength to get up there and work through this very challenging issue in front of so many people. I really want to share with you that by the end of the session your face was glowing! You looked more feminine and younger, as if a great burden had been lifted off your shoulders! You looked more calm and assertive. I do not know you, but I am proud of you! Nick, thank you so much! You inspire me! Thank you so much for your great work with this amazing woman! And a great thank you to Alex for being so kind as to show Joanne she is a joy to dance with! 🙂

  38. Nadeja Gerasimow says:

Great job Nick, great job Joanne! Keep on the healing track. You are a beautiful woman. You are worthy of love. I send you love and I know you can do it. Happy dancing!

  39. Margaret says:

Wow! Words can’t express the feelings I experienced, because I have a somewhat similar experience with my dad, who I have long since forgiven, but that was after 54 years of dealing with the shame and hurt from his actions. Like you, Joanne, I know he loved me and didn’t realize what he was doing. My whole life was impacted by his actions. I only hope children growing up today will have access to this kind of healing therapy so they don’t have to go through what we did.

Joanne, you were very brave to confront this, especially so publicly! I commend you for that, and know your life will be changed forever.

Nick and Alex, you are both so kind and compassionate. The world needs so many more like you!!

  40. Costel says:

    Great session Nick!!
Congratulations for the mastery with which you conducted it.
    Impressive insights and quick transformation.
    Very inspiring and touching.
    Great courage and impressive work.
    Keep tapping 🙂

  41. Judy Szabo says:

Poetry in motion! True reality right in from of your eyes that tapping works!!

Brilliant – why is this not taught in schools for juniors and seniors?….. would
probably handle the world wide problem of bullying!

Thank you for allowing me to watch this very powerful video.

  42. Deborah Gillmor says:

All I could think of when I heard the tango music and saw Alex walking to the stage was, “Yeah! That’s how we clear things up! We give the mind PROOF that the mean story isn’t true.” Thank you Joanne for sharing this experience. I am so sorry that it hurt you for so long. And I was touched at how kind and generous and gentle Nick was. It was a very safe space. Thank you both. Keep me posted!

  43. Lisa Hamaker says:

Bravo! Bravo! Bravo Joanne. And thank you for your amazing courage that helped me to find mine.

  44. Barbara Hamilton says:

That was beautiful! Thank you Joanne for allowing yourself to be so vulnerable, we all benefited from your bravery. Thank you Nick for your insight and compassion.

  45. Donna Melville says:

Thank you Joanne and Nick. This pushed a lot of my buttons too and I was tapping and crying along with you. Joanne you are so brave to go up there and change right in front of us. Nick this was inspiring, full of humour and compassion, Thank you. The very idea of the Tango showed us where your heart really is … and Alex wow it was great and Joanne really had fun. Makes me want to dance again too and go out and stop making excuses… thank you to you all. Have fun Joanne! Dance more!

  46. Cheryl McPhee says:

Totally awesome. Thank you so much. What a brave beautiful woman you are Joanne.
Thank you Nick you are such a blessing to all of us. May those blessings be returned to you a hundred fold.

  47. sue wilby says:

fantastic session and so relevant to me,I had the same experience with my father and the same never being asked to dance, right from dancehalls when I was young to Ceroc and Rock n Roll classes at the age of 60+. Ive taken up linedancing(no partner required!) but tapped along with this session and hope things will have changed as it affects so much more than just the dancing, not being picked for jobs etc. Thanks for getting up on stage and being so brave.

  48. Maureen says:

Joanne, you were so brave. That brave you was always there and Nick helped you to see and feel this part of yourself and more. It was a privilege to be allowed to see this process take place and I thank you for allowing the video to be shared.

To Nick and the Tapping Solution, it’s not often I am lost for words but I have no words adequate enough to say how much of a blessing you are bringing to people all over the world.Your brother showed such loving support for Joanne and demonstrated by his actions, the pure love behind the Tapping Solution.

    I thank Heaven for you.
    Love Always…x

  49. Bente says:

    Dear Joanne and Nick,

Thank you so much for this session. Joanne you were amazing and to see the difference from the beginning of the video to where you talked at the end, was so great and powerful. You know, I have had just the same experiences, though it was my mother telling me I was to big/old to sit on my fathers lap, and this words and memory have followed me for many years, now I understand where the unworthiness comes from. I was tapping along with you, so thank you again :-)I hope you will have lots of fun dancing.

  50. Jenny Ibbotson says:

Thank you Nick for the wonderful work you do and the difference you make in so many lives – mine included. Thank you Joanne for your courage – you helped me find a profound issue in my life that I didn’t even realise was there. I did so much clearing and I am feeling lighter and clearer. I send you love and wish you joy and I hope you put on your dancing shoes pretty soon xx
