I am moving forward with more confidence than I imagined I could have at this point in my life.
When Everything Falls Apart at Once
Jane's world didn't collapse slowly. It happened all at once.
At the beginning of the pandemic, April 1st of 2020, her husband of 38 years moved out. She didn't want to be divorced at 64, but she could no longer live with his addictions. The marriage was over.
Then her 94-year-old father died. And she became a caregiver for her 90-year-old mother—a stressful new chapter she hadn't anticipated. On top of that, a surgery took the wind out of her sails, and she struggled to recover.
What Jane was facing:
- Divorce after 38 years of marriage
- Death of her father
- Caregiving for her elderly mother
- Recovery from surgery
- Working through a pandemic
- Depression and anxiety at all-time highs
"My depression and anxiety levels have been hitting all-time highs," she writes. "I don't like taking medication. Too many side effects for me."
Then She Found Tapping
Jane's aunt introduced her to Tapping just before the Tapping World Summit began. She was brand new to the practice—but something clicked immediately.
"This is becoming a life-changing event for me," she writes.
What she discovered was different from anything she'd tried before. The Summit interviews felt "as helpful as counseling"—and she couldn't afford the level of professionals being interviewed. She purchased the program and Jessica's weight loss book. She started using the app's meditations when she got completely overwhelmed.
A Night That Changed Everything
One evening, after a long, stressful week at work followed by an evening with her mom, Jane came home a mess. She was completely overwhelmed. Instead of lying awake for hours like she usually did, she tried something different.
"I used the Tapping meditation for release of anxiety with Jessica and I was able to get a full, restful night of sleep."
For someone whose anxiety had been at all-time highs, whose life had been turned upside down, who didn't want to rely on medication—this was significant. One session. One full night of sleep.
Moving Forward With Confidence
Jane now uses the productivity Tapping meditations on Saturdays when she needs to catch up from the week. She has the tools to handle being overwhelmed. And something has shifted:
I am very grateful that Tapping has become a part of my life. I am moving forward with more confidence than I imagined I could have at this point in my life.
At 64, after divorce, after loss, after her health struggled and her responsibilities multiplied—Jane found something that works. Not a magic solution that erased all her problems. But a tool that helps her sleep. A practice that gives her confidence. A light in what she calls "a dark world."
"The world would be a much better place if we all grew up Tapping," she writes.
