Considering I've had roughly 30 years of therapy for PTSD and related symptoms, I can not believe how much your wisdom and guidance is changing my life.
Everything She Tried Before Tapping
Amy's journey to healing started decades ago. Like so many of us who carry trauma, she didn't just try one thing—she tried everything. Talk therapy saved her life, she says, and she's had wonderful therapists who coached her through challenges with trauma, relationships, marriage, parenting, and menopause.
But something was still missing. No matter how much she understood intellectually, her "unconscious hardwiring" couldn't be fully reconciled.
What Amy tried over 30 years:
- Talk Therapy
- Medications
- EMDR
- Brain Spotting
- Group Therapy
- Grief Counseling
- 12-Step Groups
- Mindfulness Training
- Art Therapy
- Yoga Nidra
- Meditation
- Journaling
- Self-Help Books
- Supplements
- Exercise
The weight struggle was part of it too. Over those same 30 years, Amy had lost 250 pounds—the same 30-50 pounds, over and over and over again. Every diet, every exercise expert, every program and pill known to womankind. She could make them all work. For about a minute.
A Hard Sell on Tapping
"Believe me when I say I was a hard sell on the mere idea of Tapping," Amy writes. After trying so many things, skepticism was reasonable. But when she found Jessica's weight loss book, something different happened.
As she read and tapped her way through, she began to understand herself in ways that 30 years of therapy hadn't revealed. Tapping taught her something new: how to sit with emotions, and then how to work through the unwanted thoughts that had kept those feelings in control of her life.
And yet, I am here to testify that Tapping once or twice a day is clearing those cycles of self-abuse and self-hatred. Finally, I know what to DO with the intrusive thoughts that no longer serve me.
The difference, Amy realized, was that talk therapy helped her understand her patterns. But Tapping helped her release them. She finally knew how to reframe intrusive thoughts into "the authentic messages I have always deserved."
What Changed
Within just a few weeks of starting Jessica's book on August 1st, the shifts began:
Amy's Transformation
But the physical changes were almost secondary to the emotional ones. Tapping was eliminating chronic and acute arthritic pain she'd lived with for over 25 years—and the anxiety she had about movement causing that pain. She went from being unable to walk more than a mile or be on her feet longer than an hour to walking five miles at full speed, almost entirely pain-free.
At 59, All Is Not Lost
"Even at 59, Tapping has taught me all is not lost and it is never too late to live joyfully," Amy writes. For the first time, she's not just losing weight—she's motivated to help her head move back into what she calls her "naturally athletic body."
This time feels different. Not because of a new diet or exercise plan, but because she's finally addressed what was driving the struggle all along.
Amy's Words
Hi Jessica,
I feel compelled to reach out, after reading, listening to, and Tapping my way through your weight loss book. I cannot begin to tell you how relieved I am to have learned about you, your book and The Tapping Solution. I can't begin to tell you how much your wisdom and guidance is changing my life.
Considering I've had roughly 30 years of therapy for PTSD and related symptoms, I cannot believe how much your book helped me identify about myself. Tapping taught me how to sit with emotions and then taught me how to work through the unwanted thoughts that kept those feelings in control of my life.
Talk therapy and medications literally saved my life. I've had wonderful therapists who coached me through challenges within my trauma, relationships, marriage, parenting, and menopause along with everything in between. However, my unconscious hardwiring couldn't be reconciled, entirely, by the many things I've tried...
Believe me when I say I was a hard sell on the mere idea of Tapping. And yet, I am here to testify that Tapping once or twice a day is clearing those cycles of self-abuse and self-hatred. Finally, I know what to DO with the intrusive thoughts that no longer serve me and I finally know how to reframe them into the authentic messages I have always deserved.
Today I am hopeful about my journey forward. I am confident and have faith in my ability to permanently lose the 50 pounds I have only managed to misplace during the length of my adulthood.
In addition, Tapping is also eliminating chronic and acute arthritic pain, and the anxiety I have about movement causing that pain, for the first time in over 25 years. I have literally gone from being unable to walk more than a mile or be on my feet longer than an hour, to walking at full speed for 5 miles, without having to limp and almost entirely pain free!
I am SO motivated to help my head move back into my naturally athletic body! Even at 59, Tapping has taught me all is not lost and it is never too late to live joyfully.
Love,
Amy
