Want to Feel Grateful (Not Just Think It)?

  1. Tap the side of your hand: "Even though I know I should feel grateful but I don't, I accept how I feel."
  2. Keep Tapping: "What if there's more to be grateful for than I can see right now? What if I could feel it in my body?"
  3. Notice. Gratitude often arrives as warmth, lightness, or tears of appreciation.

Why Gratitude Can Feel So Hard

The human brain evolved with a negativity bias—it's designed to scan for threats, problems, and what's lacking. You can't simply "think" your way into gratitude when your nervous system is in stress mode. The body needs to feel safe first. Tapping addresses both levels—calming the stress response while guiding the mind toward appreciation.

Gratitude as a Reset

Many people don't notice when they've slipped out of gratitude until something brings them back. Stress happens gradually. Worry accumulates. Focus narrows onto problems. A short gratitude practice can serve as a reset button—a way to return to a state you didn't realize you'd left.
