The Science: Why Childhood Still Matters
Neuroscience has confirmed what therapists have long observed: early experiences shape the brain in lasting ways. The neural pathways formed in childhood—especially around safety, worthiness, and connection—become the default settings of your adult nervous system. When a child learns "I'm not enough" or "the world isn't safe," these beliefs become wired in, operating below conscious awareness.
Inner child work accesses these early programming layers. The concept of an "inner child" is a therapeutic framework for understanding how wounded younger parts of ourselves continue to influence adult behavior. When you're triggered disproportionately, when you react instead of respond, when you find yourself in the same painful patterns despite knowing better—often an old wound is being activated.
Tapping is particularly effective for this work because it engages the body, where these early experiences are stored. Talking about childhood can help, but the body often holds what the mind can't access. By Tapping while connecting with your younger self—nurturing them, hearing their feelings, releasing their limiting beliefs—you can create actual neurological change. The old pathways can be updated.
A complete journey: These sessions build on each other, taking you from first connection with your inner child through releasing limiting beliefs, comforting difficult feelings, and ultimately finding harmony between your adult self and the child within.

Lisa
"When I started, all the times I felt insecure or put down or not enough came right up in my mind. Easy to reach and charged with emotion."
Lisa did the challenge daily, allowing painful childhood and adult memories to surface. On day 6, she had a huge breakthrough moment about a situation with a former friend.
"Today, when I tried to think about all the stuff that came up earlier in the week it was like my mind couldn't really grab hold of any of it. I remember it but my mind kind of floated off of it. It didn't have the same charge to it."
Angel
"I've cried and cried and sobbed in pain through many years of multiple horrid, debilitating anguish, doubts, fears, illness and multiple abusers. Today I started well as a '5' and went down to a '2' which was great."
Instead of rushing off after the session, Angel repeated it—allowing more glimpses of childhood and adulthood hurts to surface.
"Many more glimpses of childhood and adulthood hurts and memories resurfaced and the pit of my stomach even ached. With Nick's calm, encouraging perfect tone of voice and choice of words, I allowed the pain to surface, sat with it, and let it go. Thank you."
Liz
"This process helped me realize that shame has been a dark heavy cloak holding me down, somewhat suffocating me, and causing me to feel not good enough, and to live a life much less than I am truly capable of."
Liz discovered a profound truth through the Tapping process—something she hadn't fully recognized despite years of struggle.
"I realized I can learn to let go of that shame. It is a journey I wish to travel forward daily. Thank you SO much Nick and Jessica! This app is fantastic! I want to share it with all my loved ones and everyone who will listen!"
