Tapping Meditation – From Overwhelm to Calm

Written by: Nick Ortner

I’ve got a little challenge for you today

Take FIVE minutes right now…

Choose ONE thing to think about and release, close your eyes, and just tap through all the points.

You don’t have to say anything out loud and you don’t have to get it perfect. Just choose one thing that has been stressing you out or worrying you and start to release it now.

You don’t even have to release all of it. Just start to let it go…

If you want some guidance, here’s a free Tapping Meditation titled “From Overwhelm to Calm”.

Use it whenever life feels like it’s a little too much for you, when you’re overwhelmed by a specific topic or issue, or any other time you’re struggling.

If you find it helpful, please comment and let me know below and be sure to share with your friends! 🙂

  2. Linda says:

I have serious heart problems and a nagging headache from medications being changed. I had CRPS (both feet) from 2010-2017. My feet still sit on the verge of flaring, but tapping today brought them from an 8 to a 3. I couldn’t sleep last night with the headache, so tried to tap to relieve it. I couldn’t remember all of the points, but did the best I could. It helped for sure. Today when I followed along with this meditation, the results were much more effective and my pain went from 6 to 1.

Thank you for sharing your gift!

I am going through deep personal changes, changing life basically. I am currently taking exams, while signing an agreement with my employer for my release, selling my appartment in the city to buy a house in the countryside where I will set up a pottery studio. everyone of those is coming to a conclusion at basically the same time after months of work and negociation. and now some details are arising that I fear might put the agreements in danger, and the feeling of overwhelm just got so huge, all my joints started aching, especially in my hands and my wrists. After the meditation I ernt from a 10 to a 1. Thank you Nick !

  6. Diane says:

Thank you! I really needed this today. Much Love.

  7. Cynthia Naude says:

Thank you for your care and reaching out. You make this world a better place. I felt much better after doing the meditation. My stress level was half of what it was before I started!

  8. Celia Lewis says:

My sense of overwhelm has to do with managing the moderate/severe osteoarthritis I seem to have in most joints. Leads me to feel pain, and to worry about my future physical life as well as worry about my financial ability to continue to be independent. I’m 76, retired on no pension, living w. my permanently disabled adult son, and luckily we live in Canada, so medical issues aren’t another stressor. I feel my overwhelm in my jaw all the time, which quickly brought up another major overwhelm trigger – I’ll be tapping on that today as well.
From 8 to 3 with tapping. Merci, Nick. Very helpful

  9. David Jackson says:

Hi Nick, just did your tapping . I try to not let my illness bother me, but I do struggle when it takes over. I have severe lung blockage, Emphysema, causing heart probs. Had 2 small heart attacks, these aren’t a problem for me, I accept them as I would a work accident, deal with it ad move on. (I am a little accident prone, but now having retired accidents don’t happen as much) My biggest problem is breathing, or lack thereof. I have been getting emails from you for years, I have the 2013 world summit, just had a look now, it is still sealed. So have now to make time and read and listen. I get all your emails, and is it possible thro tapping to ease the emphysema. Keep up the good work. Blessings, David

    • Nick Ortner says:

Thanks David! Going back to any of the talks from the previous Summits is always a good thing. Many of them are just timeless and still 100% relevant and effective. I don’t believe we have something specifically for emphysema, but you may wish to try this Tap and Breathe exercise. 🙂

  10. Tina Nelson says:

This tapping meditation took me from a 10 to a 5 on the scale of my overwhelm. Tapping works. And it works fast. It was enough of a shift for me to be in a more calm place so that I could get what needed to be done and organize my day. Thank you Nick.

  11. happyaquarian says:

A perfect reminder and nudge into choosing tapping when your issue has been acknowledged. I always forget how quickly it releases. Very very grateful for this tool.

  12. Loree says:

    Dear Nick,
A wonderful meditation. It is as if you were reading my mind! I went from an 8 to a 4-5. There is still tightness in my chest but it is a bit less. My current stress is from a good place (wanting to shine at a new job and to forget my prior one), but it is still stress.
I also did Jessica’s 4 part series and discovered many things about the origin of my food cravings and habits that were massively helpful (fun times w friends, being around people who I love and who love me, memories of driving home from the stressful environment of grad school with tasty treats in the car).
Many thanks to both of you!

  13. Joanne says:

Wow, went from 7 to 3. Felt like I didn’t have time to do thi tapping, but did it anyway. Relaxed me, gave focus & found ways to save some time! Thank you

  14. Laura Cousino says:

I feel so much relief from any anxiety I’m dealing with, when I take the time to tap. Thank you for tapping to overcome feeling of being overwhelmed. I went from a 10 to a 6.

  15. Polly Pearshouse says:

Thank you Nick. I had just heard that a dear friend died last night and was overwhelmed by grief from that and all the past times when I have been left. I started at 9 but came down to 3 but am aware I need to do more – but I’m ok. That email came in at just the right time, thenk you again, Polly

  16. meg says:

So graTeful to be learning to tap. Must be more faithful; I am reminded by this.

  17. Erica Steiner says:

Thanks so much Nick. Last week I moved from Eastern USA to the midwest to help care for my parents. I missed my friends, the place I lived, familiar roads and stores. So I stuffed my life full. I didn’t let myself have 1 quiet moment. Tonight was the breaking point. I decided that I was tired of holding it all in and acting okay. So I decided to listen to a tapping session. I feel so much calmer. I was at maybe a 9 before I started and and feel like I’m down to a 3. No maybe I will be able to relax for once. And learn to enjoy the things in this new area. Thanks so much again!

  18. MARILYN says:

After a difficult month of December, 2017, I find myself depressed and overwhelmed.
I did the above tapping exercise and at the conclusion, I am much calmer. Thank you for the tools to help me help myself.
