Financial Success

Do you think you deserve success?

Written by: Nick Ortner

Be You And Believe In YourselfDo you think you deserve success?

It’s an important question to ask and explore whenever you’re trying to improve your finances and your level of success.

I touched upon this the other day in the “7 Things Successful People Do Differently” blog post.

But I want to get more specific on it with you today, and take you through a simple process for using EFT Tapping to eliminate any hidden blocks you may have.

Remember what I mentioned the other day: successful people believe they deserve success, whereas unsuccessful people do not.

Are You Aware of Your Beliefs?

Oftentimes, people think they don’t deserve success  (either consciously or unconsciously) because of false beliefs like:

“I’m not a good enough person,” or “I don’t work hard enough,” or “I’m not smart enough,” or any other of a laundry list of negative limiting beliefs.

If you have any beliefs that don’t support your success, it will hold you back from creating it in your life.

And the ONLY things that qualifes somebody as ”deserving success” or not, are the rules and belief structures they create for it in their own brains.

If you feel like you don’t deserve success on any level, but you want to be able to build the belief system that successful people have, then make sure to do this Tapping with me today! 🙂

Ok, let’s jump right in…

This will only take a few minutes (but it could have a huge impact on your finances and level of success):

.

Step 1: Complete the Statements Below

Writing-Statements-for-deserving-successIn the previous blog post, I asked to you complete two sentences to begin to find what barriers you may have.

Even if you did this already the other day, it’s important to do it again to reconnect you with what came up before.

Go ahead and say these statements out loud (or say them in your head if there are people around you) and then complete the statements for yourself:

I don’t deserve success because…

Say this statement and complete it as many times as you need to until no more answers are coming to mind. Write down everything that comes up.

If, for example, something comes up like “I don’t deserve success because I’m not smart enough,” or “because I’m too lazy,” or “because I don’t matter,” or (and this is a big one for many people) “because I’m not a good enough person,” then you know you have beliefs that need to be dealt with that are holding you back.

And don’t worry if the answers don’t flow for you right away. Sometimes it can take a little more unearthing to find what’s holding you back. 🙂

OK, now complete this statement, saying it out loud a few times:

I deserve success because…

The answers to these two questions can give you some big insights into what beliefs (both positive and negative) you have about becoming more successful.

.

Step 2: Use EFT Tapping to eliminate negative beliefs and form new beliefs

If you’re new to EFT Tapping and you don’t know how to tap or where the points are, watch this video where my sister Jessica, the host of the Annual Tapping World Summit, shows you exactly how to Tap:

.

First Let’s Assess Our Thoughts

First off, let’s make sure to calibrate to see just how true each of the negative statements you wrote down feel to you on the scale of 0 to 10. Read each statement out loud and write how TRUE each statement feels, with 0 feeling not true at all and 10 feelings completely true.

Here are some examples:

I don’t deserve success because:

I’m not smart enough: 6
I procrastinate: 8
I don’t matter: 8
I’m not a good enough person: 10

With the example above, the last one, with the number 10 next to it, would feel the truest and have the biggest emotional charge to it. But we’d still want to tap on each of these. The goal is to get each of them down to a 0, or as close as possible to 0.

Let’s Begin Tapping

We’ll do this with the statement of, “I don’t deserve success because I’m not good enough.”

Karate-Chop-PointStarting by Tapping on the Karate Chop Point:

Even though I don’t deserve success because I’m not a good enough person, I love and accept myself anyway. (Repeat this three times)

Now let’s move to the other points. Read each of these as you tap on each of the points:

Eyebrow: I don’t deserve success because of my past.
Side of the Eye: I’ve always felt like I wasn’t enough.
Under Eye: I learned early on that I wasn’t enough.
Under Nose: I won’t ever be worthy of success.
Chin: I’ve always been told I wasn’t good enough.
Collarbone: I’ve never felt like I was good enough.
Under Arm: I’m just not good enough to be successful.
Top of the Head: I just don’t feel like I’m good enough.

Repeat

Let’s do another round, and if at any time some of the words don’t feel right for you, you just say what does feel right and true for you…

Eyebrow: I grew up feeling like I wasn’t good enough.
Side of the Eye: I’ve had so many experiences that have shown me I’m not good enough.
Under Eye: I’ve failed so many times.
Under Nose: If I was good enough, I would already be successful.
Chin: I’m just not good enough at my core.
Collarbone: I’ll never be good enough.
Under Arm: But I love and accept myself anyway.
Top of the Head: No matter what.

Go ahead and take a deep breath… and then out. Now repeat the statement again: “I don’t deserve success because I’m not a good enough person.”

How True Does It Feel From 0 to 10?

Has it gone down? Has it gone up? What else came up for you during the Tapping? Did a memory from childhood come up? What emotions came up? Use these things as a guide to help know where to tap next.

Now let’s do some positive Tapping. If you’re not down to a 5 or lower this positive Tapping may feel very untrue to you. If that’s the case, keep Tapping on the negative until you’ve brought it down some more.

Eyebrow: I’m open to the possibility that I do deserve success.
Side of the Eye: Even though I’ve felt like I didn’t deserve success because of my past…
Under Eye: Maybe I can change my beliefs.
Under Nose: Everyone deserves success, and I do too.
Chin: I can allow success in my life.
Collarbone: I deserve success.
Under Arm: I can release my old beliefs, and allow success into my life.
Top of the Head: I deserve success in my life.

Eyebrow: I’m ready for success to flow into my life.
Side of the Eye: I deserve success.
Under Eye: I can allow myself to feel like I’m enough.
Under Nose: I’m a good enough person to feel successful.
Chin: I’m allowing success into my life at this very moment.
Collarbone: I deserve success.
Under Arm: I choose to believe that I am worthy of success.
Top of the Head: I feel so grateful for what I have, and am excited for more success in my life.

Go ahead and take a deep breath in… and then out. Now repeat the statement again: “I don’t deserve success because I’m not a good enough person.”

Rate Your Beliefs Again

How true does it feel for you from 0 to 10? Has it gone down? Has it gone up? What else came up for you during the Tapping?

Go through this process for each negative statement you’ve written down. It also helps to do the process several times. Do it today, and then come back tomorrow and do it again and see what comes up after your brain and body have had time to process the Tapping.

I hope you enjoyed the process! 🙂

Until next time…

Keep Tapping!

Nick Ortner

Thank you dear Nick and Jessica Ortner and the team members … _/\_ ?❤

  2. Gordon says:

Well I have been doing EFT for over 3 months now and so far nothing! Read the book and have been doing the exercises, nothing.

    • Nick Ortner says:

Hi Gordon. We are sorry to hear you haven’t experienced the sort of results you have wanted to yet.

Here are some simple tips to help EFT/Tapping be more effective for you:

      1. Make sure you are well hydrated. Drink water regularly both before and during tapping. You may want to add fresh lemon juice to your water. Avoid things that are dehydrating, like coffee.

      2. Be specific. The biggest mistake we often see is people being very general in their tapping statements. Each problem, pain, or experience needs to be broken down into individual aspects. Then each aspect has to be tapped down until you feel relief, before moving on to the next aspect.

      3. Find core issues. Often a physical ailment or problem is caused by a belief or wound in the past. Nick’s recent interview with Louise Hay is a perfect example of this. Louise was feeling a pain in her neck. She realized this was caused by a memory of her stepfather holding her head under water as a child. In this case, tapping on the memory of what she experienced as a child is more effective than tapping on the symptom of it, the pain in her neck.

      4. Use the 9 Point Gamut technique. You can find information about that here:
      https://www.thetappingsolution.com/eft-articles/remember-to-roll-your-eyes-a-deeper-understanding-of-the-gamut-point-procedure/

      5. When in doubt, call a tapping professional. There’s a saying we use around here: Doctors don’t pull their own teeth! Almost all tapping practitioners will go to another practitioner when looking to clear their own issues. We recommend you consider working one on one with a tapping professional. We have a listing of practitioners from all over the world on our website. Many of them do phone and/or Skype sessions, so it’s not necessary to find someone locally, although there may be practitioners in your area. You can find the directory here:

We hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any questions. Wishing you all the best! 🙂

I thank-you so much for your continued efforts to engage us in the benefits of tapping.
Today was the day with this exercise I had my break through.
I discovered that I had a deep fear of success (which = happiness, as in fulfillment of my goals, as in “being successful”)
I substituted fear of success; soon deep feelings of sadness came up around the unexpected loss of my father when I was very young..then feelings of anger toward even living…I didn’t understand these feelings but I kept tapping on whatever came up…..got intensity down to ok then tapped on being an adult in the here and now and on my positive deservability…
I feel a huge shift in myself and a spontaneous surge of energy and motivation..I will continue with tapping everyday if I feel out of sorts or stressed. As a retired pyschotherapist, I can vouch for the tremendous effectiveness this process offers for regaining peace and contentment in ones life.

  4. Elda says:

This was great! It clarified what I was holding in my consciousness and it felt so liberating to tap it out of my consciousness and bring in the obvious truth of my being. Yes, I feel liberated and hopeful.

  5. Joan says:

I found the tapping to have a calming effect on my mind and body.

  6. pescadita says:

    hi all,
    i have a question.
the hardest part of the tapping i find is telling myself i accept and love myself as i don´t in reality.
do i need to say this untill i might start believing it or do i use a more toned down or less personal statement (eg i know i deserve to be loved deep down inside or i know i can learn to accept myself)? not sure what to do. i feel the relieve in tapping, but would love some help on this part of the tapping.
thank you so much!! truly appreciate it!

    • Nick Ortner says:

Hi Cathy. I’m sorry but we don’t have a video to go along with this script. We just have the video with the tapping points included in this blog post. We do have a number of scripts, videos and audios in our blog posts so you can still find a number of free resources on our website. I hope that helps! 🙂

  10. Susanne says:

I started laughing directly when I started, I just understood how silly ? it’s to have that belief and still I have them… or had. From 10 to 2! Thank you!

  11. Lea says:

Thanks Nick for these EFT tips, tapping really helps me since I’ve started to practice it and release my fears, and I started it recently, with tapping summit only! Thanks!

  12. Martha says:

When I read through the questions I didn’t feel much intensity on any of them, but I went through the tapping script anyway. Oh my goodness, as I was reading the statements I realize just how true they were ringing and memories and flashes of feelings came up. You hit spot on with every statement!

This exercise made me realize that sometimes we don’t even know consciously that we have these limiting beliefs.

    Thank You Nick!

This morning I woke with terminal poverty beliefs in my head.Still half asleep,I did some “mental tapping” without touching any points. Before I knew it,the negativity was gone-replaced by the positive thought energy decided on instead.Tapping is just amazing!
Thank you so much to Nick,Jess and the team for getting it out to the world.
How about spreading it out to the inner cities where it could help really desperate people?
Thanks to you,I am starting to see a realistic way to have my success.

  25. Lee says:

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
Nick, I have been a big fan since the first world tapping summit. I have bought all of your stuff and look forward to the day we can meet. I love wheat you are doing for the Vets and want to some way help that expand it.

I went through this tapping exercise – not the first time at all! However, this time I did it! My first statement was “I don’t deserve success because I am a slacker” and yes my behavior has reflected that. I went deeper and said, I am a slacker because I do not deserve any good in my life. through the negative tapping, my life passed before me- I have been doing everything I can to make sure I do not have good. I went back to that hurt little girl – boy is she still hurting.

After the negative round I I just allowed myself to be with it and kept breathing deeply. I then did a few rounds of tapping on that hurt little girl, and gave her a voice, and mostly gave her love. As I felt relief and release, I again sat with it and continue to breathe deeply.

Then I did my rounds of upliftment and positivity. I have never felt better in my life. I just need to continue to remember that little girl and help her go from hurt to happy and care free. I have taken a MASSIVE leap forward today! I will continue to gentle with myself, and just focus on one step at a time., and when I fall down to just be loving and understanding.

    WOW! thank yo so much!

  26. Elaine says:

I think it is so good I have bought your book, thank you

  27. Marcy says:

I like Tapping better when I’m hearing someone else’s voice making the statements. I find it very difficult to say the word “love” … am just now getting used to the word “accept.”

  28. Moye says:

The sentences seem too long, and too multiple for me to remember initially. I am trying to modify them as best as I can for easy remembrance. Getting a better feeling with every succeeding attempt.

  29. Arleen says:

Words couldn’t have been more accurate

  30. Trish says:

    Thankyou.

  31. Mary Joe Nicosia says:

While doing the tapping, I had the overwhelming feeling of vomiting. I do swallow my disgust of myself, so I am willing to allow this self hatred come up and allow it to leave my temple! AMEN
    Thank you! NAMASTE!

  32. Sandy says:

I had a list of 5 things holding me back. 4 tens and 1 nine. After tapping for each I am down to 3 zeros and 2 twos. I feel motivated to get things done and drive my business on to success. Wonderful experience.

  33. P-Daddy says:

    Great as always Nick!

  37. Sharon says:

I know tapping works. It has worked for me in the past. I often forget to tap for bigger issues like success.

  38. Anita says:

I’m always surprised at how quickly tapping works! I went from an 8 to a 3…and, although I know there are more connections to tap on, I love having a brief guide like this to help me through the process. Thanks for your generosity in sharing.

This was fab felt a 1 then we by up to an 8

  40. Rahul kumar says:

God bless you and more power to you.

  41. Denise Clarke says:

Thank you for thinking of others and sharing your knowledge it has given me new hope

  42. christina says:

This was awesome, I have been having a fear of deserving success, but kept it to myself because i was worried everyone would think i am crazy. (most people fear failure)
    Thanks

  43. Violeta Teneva says:

Tapping is working, so it is real. Nothing more is needed.
Thank you from all my heart!

  44. Carol Frances says:

I have been feeling very low over the past few days, stuck at home following a shoulder injury and subsequent surgery. This process is helping me to keep my head up and bring some positivity into my life (even if I’m only tapping one handed). Thank you.

  45. Donna says:

My thought about deserving success was that I’m not smart enough and I have a Master’s Degree. Clearly, there is more going on here! Very powerful! I think this may help me move forward. Thank you!

  46. Lou says:

Writing down the answers to the questions and value they have helps the focus. Thanks, it works as a guide to keep doing the tapping and be aware of the release of old thought patterns that are still there but no longer useful.

  47. Dr. Geri says:

Thank you! I’ve been aware of EFT since Dr Mercola first mentioned it in his health blog waaaaay back when ; but I never looked into using it for myself or for my practice members . I thought it was one more technique that I didn’t have time to learn or implement.
It was when you posted the interview with one of my heroes Bruce Lipton that I took a second look.
As Dr. Lipton said, “Tapping can help us access and re-program our subconscious beliefs”, so it follows that can also have a very positive and profound impact on our health and healing. In fact, I’m convinced that any attempt to reduce chronic inflammation, or to create permanent weight loss, or even transform a body REQUIRES the type of sub conscious reprogramming that Tapping can access.
Thank you for sharing Tapping! I’m discovering that it is a very effective, easy to learn and integral to well-being.

  48. Patty says:

I feel better then I did before I did the tapping. Its was a 10 now its a 4. Hopefully when I do it again it will go down to a 0.

  49. Julie M says:

I was recently fired from a nonprofit job where I was working as hard as I could to succeed, but my work was never good enough (I was only there for 2 months.) My husband and I are considering expanding his massage therapy business, but I have so many fears and not feeling good enough for success is definitely a huge concern. I’m not sure if I will find another job or pursue business expansion now, but I think this process will help me a lot either way. I’m going to be using today’s script many times to work out all of the reasons I’ve felt I don’t deserve success–I can already feel that strong, old belief starting to crack.

I am so appreciative of the high quality, free resources that your team provides (and I have purchased a few things that have also far surpassed the cost by the value I’ve received.) I get a lot of offers from personal development speakers/trainers, but Nick and Jess, you give so much and I am touched by the sincerity of wanting to help others that you bring to your work. Thank you, and your whole supporting team!

  50. Ann says:

Your resources are so useful, Nick. Thank you
