Celebrate!

Written by: Nick Ortner

I watched this simply fantastic 72-second video the other day, and it made me think about “celebrating”. ‘Cause this kid knows how to do it right…

Watch the short video here…

Wasn’t that great? I love his pause as he takes it all in, and then raises his hands in glory! Use this as a simple reminder today to celebrate your victories, small or large.

Just the other day, for the first time in a while, I actually WROTE DOWN all the great things that were happening in my life, and it was a fabulous and simple process. It’s so easy to take things for granted, to get something we want and just jump on to the next thing, without acknowledging it’s accomplishment or feeling the thrill of it.

So try that today. Even for just 2 minutes, write down a few of the things you’re proud/grateful about and celebrate them. The other option is, when no one is looking, raise your hands in the air like this little munchkin did, and see if you can channel that feeling of victory!

Keep Tapping,

Nick Ortner

On Friday we celebrated my daughter’s wedding. She had been diagnosed with cancer in January this year and has spent a lot of the year going through Chemo and Radio Therapies. Everyone at the wedding was there to enjoy themselves and it really showed. The dance floor was packed and the most lively and radiant of all was my daughter. She had decided to wear a wig for the ceremony but on the evening, off came the wig to reveal short, bright purple hair which matched the bridesmaid dresses. She really was showing us all how to celebrate just being alive.

  21. Peter Whiting says:

Thanks for the reminder. I’m always expecting the best from myself so even if the best happens, I don’t really get excited. I just beat myself up when the best doesn’t happen. Pretty stupid way to act really.

I’m going to take time to celebrate the good things from now on. Thanks!

  22. Sherry says:

I am grateful for my health and my husband and to God for loving me as He does.

  23. Barbara says:

    Hello all
What struck me was the reaction of the crowd. Here, in England, football supporters have a very bad press and it was great to see and hear the positive reaction. It was evident from the roar that went up that everyone was watching him and then enjoying his reaction. I’m sure that sense of validation by the community and being supported by so many will stay with him. I loved the “Sign him up!” Warms the heart this.
    Love and light

Fantastic, made me grin and brought a tear to my eye. I find myself focussing on the negative stuff in my life. I think I need to take the time to celebrate what is great in it too. Which, when I think about it, greatly outweighs the negative….
